PLEASE NOTE: This is a placeholder webpage. The full CWAC NZL website will be up and operational soon. CWAC NZL
CWAC NZL (Contract Wild Animal Control NZL) over the last 30 years has successfully undertaken a wide range of animal threat control and eradication programmes, on well over one million hectares of public and private land for possums, rats and mice, deer, goats, pigs, and predators. We have developed over this period safe and effective practises and processes around the professional hunting of pest animal species.
Ground Possum and Predator Control CWAC NZL started contract hunting of possums in 1990 in South Westland for the Department of Conservation (DOC). From 1997 we have also worked with the Animal Health Board, TBfree New Zealand, local government, community organisations and private landowners undertaking landscape and local scale possum and predator control operations.
Deer Control
CWAC NZL has undertaken regular deer control contracts for DOC since 1996 starting with the Murchison Mountains Deer Control Programme, where we undertook deer control to promote takahe-palatable species-regeneration in the alpine-zone of the Murchison Mountains range, the last remaining bastion for a wild takahe population in New Zealand.

Subsequent operations we have been involved in :
• Anchor Island Deer Eradication Programme, DOC Te Anau
• Dusky Islands Deer Control Programme, DOC Te Anau
• Sandy Point Deer Eradication, Invercargill District Council
• Coal Island Deer Eradication Programme, South Westland Endangered Species Trust
• Secretary Island Deer Extirpation Programme, DOC Te Anau
• Resolution Island Deer Extirpation Programme, DOC Te Anau
• Pomona Island Deer Eradication, Pomona Island Trust

Goat Control
CWAC NZL started undertaking goat control in the Ferndale block, in Southland, on behalf of Southwood Export Limited in 1990.

Subsequent operations which have included CWAC NZL hunters:
• Catlins Goat Control Programme
• Murihiku Goat Control Operations – Small Reserves, DOC Murihiku
• Murihiku Goat Control Operations – Eyre Mountains, DOC Murihiku
• Wakatipu Goat Control Operations – Eyre Mountains, Dart & Rees Rivers, DOC Wakatipu
• Judas Goat Operations – Burwood Reserve & Kepler Mire, DOC Te Anau
• Clinton Valley Goat Eradication Programme, DOC Te Anau

Pig Survey/Hunting
CWAC NZL has successfully completed multiple pig survey/hunting operations for TBfree New Zealand enabling us to develop efficent and safe practices around aerial and ground pig hunting. Pigs are currently doing enormous damge to productive farming land in many parts of the country. A combination of aerial and ground hunting can have a major impact on local pig populations and is not as expensive as one might think if the cost can be spread across multiple properties or a group of landowners. Services CWAC NZL can offer pest species control services across all scales. Whether you are a small or large landowner or manager, our team can help you in the planning and delivery of control projects targeting all pest animal species. We want to help you to minimise your pest animal problem and return your land to its most productive and healthy state.
Our highly experienced, efficient and effective team will provide you with a professional service that will acheive results.
We will undertake a free on-site assessment of your animal pest problem and provide you with a plan - and the team - to manage it.
